M the same period, so hope this one goes to a good home. I've passed two other Goyas like this onto friends as I swear by them, and am holding onto my Levin from And Julie Andrews played one in the Sound of Music too, which I've always found pretty cool. I know Nick Drake's first guitar was a Levin from around this period too. I've noticed this brand popping up more recently - saw Angel Olsen playing an acoustic show with one. No wonder Martin bought out Levin in the late 1960s, as they found them a threatening in the US market. I have had a few of these and they record and play superbly.
#Goya classical guitar gg10 crack
This one has absolutely no sigh of the common crack on the lower bout between bridge and strap too.Ī stunning looking and sounding guitar, head and shoulders above what you'd get for around the same price new. Hasn't had a neck reset, but won't need one. Spruce top, mahogany neck, rosewood bridge, and birch back and sides.

Pristine condition apart from some normal light playing wearįeom fretting on the factory varnished fretboard, and some light checking on the finish, which is hardly noticeable. The reason many people don’t bother to answer questions about string height, nut width, set up, string spacing.blah, blah, blah, is that they/we know most people asking questions like this are. This kind of guitar was also released elsewhere as the Levin model LG10. The vast majority of people on the planet, let alone guitar sellers, have zero idea what a feeler-gauge is let alone that spark plugs have gaps. A lot of these also made it out to Australia. I'm asking $999.99 but might consider some bartering for good classical electric cutaway.Absolutely beautiful Goya G10 classical guitar made in 1964 by the Swedish Levin company for the US market. This is being sold "as is" and I will be posting pictures soon. I can furnish a case if needed or wanted but this will add to the shipping costs so it's up to buyer. As expected the finish has crazing and a few scratches but nothing serious. One seems to have been cleated but I will leave the others as is so that the buyer can decide what he wants to do. There are couple of cracks on the soundboard but they don't affect playability. The action is very good and the neck and body are straight. I have silk and.steel strings on it and this baby just purrs. I'm fairly certain that it is a mid 60's model and it's a great player.

#Goya classical guitar gg10 serial
The serial is gone and an examination of the interior offered no help. The label was torn but still retains the maker, and address. The fretboard has the bass side dot markers and the frets are in good condition. have a very nice, solid wood (rare) and highly collectable Goyá F25 for sale. My songwriting has been empty since that guitar has been gone. In the story of lost love, this has been a love lost to me. It was bought by my Mom for me in Beaumont Texas for $350 USD. It had a label inside indicating it was "handmade in Sweden". No one ever called.įor you Goya patrons, you know the ache that's inside when you've played a Goya and then it's gone. I saw it, touched it, it was older, a bit more worn but still beautiful in its golden felt case. At that same pawn shop in the eighties, I came close. Picks, capo, cleaning cloth, all the necessities for your guitar- were in the case. I went to a pawn shop in south Austin and pawned my handmade in Sweden, acoustic 6 steel stringed with hardshell gold felt case. I was in college in Austin Texas and ran short of cash.
